Application scenario: Fully automatic production line for EPL-6516B steel pistons

 

Product Introduction:
This production line is mainly used to complete all the processing content of steel piston semi-finished blanks from the online to the fine machining completion. The processing equipment of the whole production line consists of EMAG VL-4, a set of numerical control irregular external round lathe and a set of numerical control irregular pin hole boring machine. The transmission of parts adopts a combination of articulated robots and annular material channels, realizing high flexibility and high automation of the production line. The overall technical indicators of the production line have reached the international advanced level.

Production Line Technical Description: Mainly composed of 3 EMAG inverted lathes, 1 double-column CNC piston irregular external round vertical lathe (using a set of linear servo tool post system), 1 CNC piston irregular pin hole boring machine, etc. The workpiece transfer uses 2 FANUC articulated robots and 1 annular transfer material channel to cooperate to complete automatic loading and unloading, realizing unmanned automatic processing. It mainly completes the rough and fine machining processes of the piston's outer circle, ring groove, top surface, combustion chamber, pin hole, and valve recess.
     
The production line has a total length of about 19.0 meters, a total width of about 7.0 meters, and a total height of about 3.5 meters. The production line adopts Mitsubishi multi-channel bus control. The typical workpiece piston weighs about 5 kg, and the processing cycle is about 180s.
